Summer Outfit Round Up

Outfit of the Day, Style

No idea what to wear this week? Whether you’re heading to the board room or the beach (hey, we can dream, right?!), shop your closet with these tips in mind.

Layer On a Kimono

Kimonos are basically the cardigan’s hipper, cooler, more interesting cousin! They’re easy to pair with work pants and a basic tank for the office or layer over a white tank and distressed denim on the weekends. Heck, if we’re dreaming about the beach, they even make a great swimsuit cover-up for the pool or beach! I’ve found that I have more luck with fit if I layer my kimono over a tank top rather than a bulkier t-shirt or long sleeve top. This gorgeous tomato red floral kimono is available at ShopTMM and of course it works great with our favorite Margaret M pants (then again what doesn’t pair perfectly with Margaret Ms?!!).

Follow Cinderella’s Lead … It’s All About the Shoes!

It’s true, one pair of shoes can change your life, or at least change your whole outfit! This season shoes in bright colors and bold patterns are getting lots of attention. They have the ability to kick up any outfit a notch! Pair with a blazer and work pants for an unexpected pop of color or mix up your weekend uniform of a white tee and distressed denim by adding a pair of bright flats or sandals. A few of our favorites include Old Navy Coral D’Orsay Flats, Old Navy Kelly Green Capri Sandals, and Dolce Vita Leopard Heeled Sandals

Olive, I Love You!

Rediscover olive! I have always thought of olive as a traditional fall and winter color but with the rise of the olive cargo jacket and vest, the color is becoming more and more versatile for spring and summer. I purchased a work appropriate olive blazer that has proved to be as easy to mix into my existing wardrobe as it’s weekend-friendly sister. I also finally invested in some non-cargo olive pants. These border on denim but they come in tall, regular and petite sizes and have become a great go to when I want to break free from my whole black pants uniform at the office!
