Last night, Stephen Colbert slayed as first-time host of the Primetime Emmy Awards (a.k.a. “Television’s Biggest Night”), but even his comedic musical intro couldn’t trump the red carpet looks (no pun intended). Here’s our list of the best dressed celebs on the 2017 Primetime Emmys Red Carpet.
Yara Shahidi
Decked out in Prada, the Blackish star stunned in this simple gown. The pretty, feminine design was complemented with just a touch of edge with the gold belt and winged black eyeliner.
Mandy Moore
As far as award show dress codes go, I’m guessing the Emmys may be somewhat difficult to dress for. It’s not Oscars-level glam, nor is it Grammys edge. But Mandy Moore nailed it elegant tiered tulle dress, paired with a bright pink lip and side-swept up-do was the perfect combin.
Jessica Biel
I think it’s safe to say that Jessica Biel’s star shines brightest when JT is not by her side. She owned the Emmys red carpet in a gorgeous nude and silver Ralph & Russo dress with a thigh-high slit.
Gillian Anderson
I didn’t realize how much I missed Scully until I saw Gillian Anderson step out on the red carpet in this stunning velvet gown. I pray my body looks this good when I’m 49…
Angela Sarafyan
I love seeing yellow on the red carpet, and I had Hilaria Baldwin on my best dressed list until I saw Angela Sarafyan step onto the carpet in a v-neck, off-the-shoulder gown by American designer Elizabeth Ken. And now I really want to watch Westworld.
Susan Kelechi Watson
The This is Us star glowed in her silver, off-the-shoulder Cristina Ottaviano gown.
Tessa Thompson
One of my absolute favorite looks of the night was Tessa Thompson’s idyllic rainbow-metallic dress, which she paired with the perfect-shade-of-blue heels.
Leslie Jones
Dayum! Remember that time Leslie Jones wore a smoking-hot Christian Siriano gown to the Ghostbusters premiere and shut all her haters up? Her Emmys Christian Siriano look is even hotter, y’all. There were a few sheer black dresses on the red carpet last night (see: Gabrielle Union and Keri Russell), but Leslie Jones wore it best, and she wins my vote for best dressed last night.
