“What We Bought This Month” is a recurring series showing what three real, hard-working mamanistas spent their money on this month.
In the last two months I haven’t purchased the same amount of shoes and clothes as I usually do. I would like to think that I am finally gaining some willpower and self-control over my discretionary spending, but I don’t like to lie (at least not to you, dear reader.) This month, one of my favorite places to buy clothes (Costco) had a killer sale on my favorite item (blazers) so I of course bought them in every color available (black, navy and grey.) At $25 a pop, how could I not?! (Seriously, if you’re not looking at Costco for killer deals on brand-name items, you should. After reading this, of course). With the hope that we will finally see some fall weather soon (we won’t), I also bought a new pair of Adidas sneakers and some other odds and ends.
Number of Items Purchased: 8 (3 blazers, 1 shirt, 1 bracelet, 1 dress, 1 pair of sneakers and two pairs of earrings)
Total Amount Spent: $226
Favorite Item Purchased: all 3 of my blazers!
After doing a great job staying under budget in July, I fell off the wagon again in August! With a trip to Ireland for my college roommate’s wedding, I did have a true need for some of the items on my list! Others just somehow found their way into my Amazon Prime Cart (including finally trying Micellar water and some great washable makeup remover cloths) and ended up on my doorstep! Imagine that?!!
Number of Items Purchased: 13 (2 tops, 1 sports bra, 1 pair of leggings, 2 jackets, 3 pairs of shoes, 1 scarf, 3 beauty items)
Total Amount Spent: Let’s just say denial is my friend this month and it’s best not to add it up!
Favorite Item Purchased: This is a tie this month, my Keen Hiking Sandals because they saved my feet walking all over Ireland. They may not be pretty but they sure are comfortable! My black tweed cape from Ireland would be my other favorite for the month because well, it’s from Ireland and in Georgia this can be my winter coat all season long!
