With spring officially right around the corner, it’s time to update my work wardrobe with one of my favorite box subscriptions, Stitch Fix. By now, you all know my love of Stitch Fix!
What’s not to love?! A personal stylist picks 5 things in your size and style then ships them to your house. You can try them on in the comfort of your own home without the “oh so unflattering” fluorescent dressing room lights and with a glass of wine! You get a discount if you keep everything and if something doesn’t work, you just pack it up in a prepaid envelope and stick it in your mailbox! If you don’t know Stitch Fix yet, you can check out more here.
So this month I asked my stylist to send me spring ready work wear because I’m sick of winter and I’m going to will spring weather my way even if the forecast seems to disagree!
So what came in my fix this month?
This is the second pair of Nine West shoes I’ve gotten in a fix and both pairs have been amazing with just enough uniqueness to dress up any outfit. I adored these flats as soon as I pulled them out of the box. Unfortunately, I’ve been putting off a long overdue bunion surgery on my left foot and these rub my fit in all the wrong places. They’re so adorable and perfect for spring that they just might be enough motivation to final call the foot surgeon!
Verdict: Return (reluctantly).
With of business meetings coming up involving partner companies where the dress code is a little more formal than my own office, I’m in need of a blazer overhaul. I bought most of my blazers around the same time which means they are also in need of updating all at once too! The fabric of this blazer has just enough give and stretch but still looks polished overall. Unfortunately the same things that make it great also make the fit a bit awkward across my broader shoulders.
I received a pair of pants from Level 99 in my last Trendsend but they were $125! I was excited when I saw these in my fix and at a much lower price point. Unfortunately the higher rise on this pair made them fit awkwardly across my hips and pull at the pockets a bit so back they go! They are so soft though, seriously like butter! If you have a chance to score any of these Level 99 pants on sale, definitely do it!
I absolutely loved the pattern and color of this top when I pulled it out of the box. Citrusy yellows are in this spring and the mustard undertones in this one makes it a yellow I can actually wear! Unfortunately the fabric is a bit see through and I didn’t really want a top I needed to wear a tank under in order to wear it to work. Sadly, I’m sending this one back.
This blouse screams warmer weather to me! I instantly picture it paired with white jeans and my new Old Navy double strap sandals or a pair of coral shorts when summer hits! It’s a soft, flowy fabric that makes it uber comfortable and the tie waist feels totally on trend for spring.
Verdict: Keep (with fantasies of beaches and warmer, sunny weather).
THE OVERALL VERDICT
Overall, I really did love all of the pieces in theory and I loved the fact that the pieces coordinated for the office and could be flexed for the weekend as well. Unfortunately, some of the fit was a bit off on the pieces otherwise I probably would have kept more of it. As usual, I’m already excited for my next fix!
