Stitch Fix is one of my favorite shopping services for busy moms. The day the box arrives always feels like Christmas day! Whether I end up keeping one item or the whole box, it’s always a fun surprise to see what my stylist sent me and try it all on.
This month, I requested teacher clothes for fall that I could intermix with other items in my closet and shoes that wouldn’t hurt my feet walking 16,000 steps a day. My stylist sent me lots of great pieces from some of my favorite Stitch Fix brands with a definite teacher feel, including a pair of TOMS flats.
This black lace detailed top is really pretty and my first thought is that it would make a great date night top on its own and layering piece during the day for work or on weekends. Unfortunately it was just a little too big so I decided to send it back.
First of all… let me just say that this cardigan is so incredibly soft! It makes me want to cuddle up on the couch for a Hallmark movie marathon. It also layers perfectly over the black lace detailed top for a great teacher outfit. After deciding not to keep a few of the pieces in this fix, I sent this one back but just thinking about how soft it was, I am kind of second guessing that decision.
When I first saw this skirt paired with the yellow cardigan and flats, I had a flashback to every favorite elementary school teacher I ever had. The plaid feels very fall and layered with a cardigan gives off major teacher vibes. Unfortunately the fit of this skirt was a bit off and it stuck out oddly across my stomach. Lets face it, even on our most confident days, that’s not a good feeling so back it went.
TOMS has always been a favorite brand of shoes for Kristy and somehow, I still haven’t made the jump so I was excited to try a pair TOMS flats. As soon as I slipped my feet into them, I understood what all the fuss is about. I could definitely walk around school all day in these flats. Unfortunately, my heels also run very narrow so these were too wide in the heels.
I immediately loved the color of this teal floral blouse and with temps still in the 80s in Georgia during the day, the sleeveless style was a plus for now and to layer later. This top blends easily into my existing wardrobe for work and I always like this color on my so it’s a keeper.
Because sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, here are a few pictures of my fix on for some style inspiration!
