“Our Favorite Things” is a recurring series highlighting what three real, hard-working mamanistas are ga-ga over each month!
Favorite Song This Month:
Ed Sheeran – Perfect – How can you not swoon over this song?! With all the changes going on in my life right now – selling a house, moving, planning a wedding, blending families… this song seems well, perfect!
My Go To Recipe:
It seems like forever ago but the big game was in fact this month! Our family made our favorite “go to” dip for party food, cabin weekends, and any type of football game. Sausage Dip served with Fritos Scoops has become a tradition in our family and lasts less than 30 minutes with 3 hungry t(w)eenagers in the house!
Favorite Memory This Month:
This month my boys and I took a trip to Florida over a long weekend and my middle sister, Kristy, was able to join us! Of course we hit Disney while we were there but we also did some things around Orlando that we haven’t before – airboat rides, kayaking with dolphins and hanging out on Cocoa Beach eating key lime pie ice cream. Adventure and travel is good for the soul and it was just so nice to spend some quality time together!
What I’m Reading:
Three Wishes by Liane Moriarty – If you loved the HBO series Big Little Lies, then you need to check out books by the author behind the series, Liane Moriarty. Three Wishes is the 4th book I’ve read from her and I’m excited to dig in! Three Wishes follows thirty-three-year-old triplets and the laughter, drama, and mayhem that follow them. If you’re familiar with this author you know that her stories carry a depth in story line for each character which keeps her books from ever becoming boring and keeps you guessing. My goal was to schedule time before bed each night to read a bit on my kindle… so far I’m batting about 5 out of 28 nights in February but I guess there’s always next month!
Like most mamas, I’m always looking for ways to make our family’s morning routine easier. Dry Shampoo has been my BFF for years now but I still dread the mornings I need to wash my hair and take the time to blow dry it straight. Most of the time I end up with a sort of “busy mom mullet”… completely dry and styled in the front and air dried and wavy in the back. Probably not the best look! After seeing rave reviews on it, I decided to give the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer a try and let me tell you, it’s life changing! Trust me on this one! My hair drying routine went from 15 minutes to about 8 and that’s completely dry and fully styled!
Stay tuned for more favorite things next month!
