#OOTD: My Attempt at Pattern Mixing

Outfit of the Day
OOTD, Playing with Patterns

I have always had a desire to play with pattern mixing, but have been too scared that I would come off looking like a color blind clown. I have read the “rules”, which include tips like keeping the patterns in the same color family. Sounds simple enough, right?

I will fully admit that I did not come up with this combination on my own – I found it on Pinterest. But it looked pretty fool-proof, and I happened to have the perfect combination of a jeans day at work, a black and white striped shirt and a black floral cardigan in my closet. And by the time I was finished, I was feeling pretty good! While I normally would’ve defaulted to black booties, I went for camel colored ones since I was feeling like such a fashion risk-taker.

What I’m Wearing:

Shirt: Haola Striped Shirt from Nordstrom Rack

Cardigan: Floral Kimono Boyfriend Cardigan, Amazon

Jeans: my go-to dark washed Denizen by Levi’s, Target

Shoes: J. Adams Peep-Toe Bootie (I want to buy in all the colors – so comfortable and versatile!), Amazon

Necklace: from a previous Your Bijoux Box, similar styles on Amazon
