Mom’s Picks: Oscars Best-Dressed

Mom Life
Oscar Statues

Last night, Hollywood’s biggest movie stars were dressed to the nines on one fabulous red carpet. And moms like me rushed through bedtime routines, popped open a bottle of Prosecco and enjoyed a front row seat of all the glamour and excitement from our couches. Outfitted in an old t-shirt and leggings, I am sharing a few of my favorite looks from the 89th Academy Awards red carpet.

Emma Stone

As expected, Emma Stone accepted her first Academy Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role in La La Land, and she was dressed to take home that gold statue. The bold red lip and old Hollywood curls were the perfect complements to her stunning gold, fringed Givenchy dress.

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen has not disappointed on an award show red carpet this season, and last night was no exception. Chrissy has shown a preference lately for belted dresses (see her Golden Globes and SAG Awards looks), and she definitely saved the best for last. Her jaw-dropping Zuhair Muhad dress, smoky eye makeup and loose up-do made for a smoldering, yet elegant, look and left me wondering how the hell her boobs looks so amazing after nursing.

Leslie Mann

I squealed when I first saw Leslie Mann on the red carpet. Not only do I absolutely adore her, but I could not get enough of her Zac Posen gown. The color was phenomenal on her, and the over-sized parachute skirt gave me all the Disney Princess feels. I know this may be a controversial choice, but I’m standing by it.

Kirsten Dunst

This, ladies and gentlemen, is how a movie star dresses. Kirsten Dunst stunned in couture Dior with a bold red lip and quite possibly my favorite necklace of the night. I mean, what’s not to love about this look? It’s both glamorous and understated and her gown has pockets!

Ruth Negga

Wearing custom Valentino and a ruby-adorned crown – a crown! – Ruth Negga won my vote for best dressed star on the red carpet last night. What I love about this look is that it quietly commands our attention for all the right reasons: the dress is beautifully made, the fit is flawless, the design is both fashion-forward and classic, and Ruth styled it flawlessly from head to toe. And in case you’re wondering, her gorgeous red eye makeup is a blend of two different shadows.
