Editor’s Note: This post is brought to you by our Mamanista friend and red-carpet correspondent Liz E. Liz loves Kate Middleton, rocks a bun like it’s nobody’s business and is the proud mom of one of the cutest and best-dressed little girls around.
As I watched the red carpet arrivals for Sunday’s Golden Globes, I kept thinking, “Damn, mamas!” The moms ruled the red carpet. I know when I finally get a date night with my baby daddy, I pull out all the stops with my hair, makeup and outfit, and I suppose red carpet events are the celebrity version of date night…
My top five moms at the 2017 Golden Globes were:
Not only did she and Michelle Williams give me total BFF envy on the red carpet, but I am really digging this effortless red carpet look. The pop of yellow in the embroidery on the dress made this otherwise simple black gown a stand-out.
When I first saw mom-to-be Natalie Portman step out of her limo, I thought the dress and hair were a little too costume-y (we get it, you were nominated for playing Jackie O.). However, as the night went on, I really started to fall in love with this look. This color is amazing on her, and the vintage Tiffany and Co. jewelry is Jackie-O perfection.
Because Chrissy Teigen. This dress is so elegant and girly, and while the fabric is sheer, it is refreshing to see this hot mama in something that doesn’t show a lot of skin. And what I love most is how she brought the whole look together by keeping everything else simple – natural makeup, slicked back pony and minimal jewelry. The bright maroon lipstick and matching clutch were the cherries on top for me.
On one hand, I kind of hate Kristen Bell – she’s funny, she can sing and act, and she is stunningly beautiful inside and out – which is why I love, love, love Kristen Bell. And I was thrilled to see her in this plunging neckline, which is done so tastefully. Head-to-toe, this look is perfection. Well done, Dax!
Evan Rachel Wood
Aside from the fact that the tailoring of this suit is impeccable and her hair and makeup are totally on point, I love that she sent a powerful message to girls and women everywhere: you do not have to show a lot of skin or conform to society’s standards to be beautiful and confident. Evan Rachel Wood ROCKED the Golden Globes red carpet, and while all the mamas were looking amazing, she is my best dressed mom of the night.
