There’s a joke amongst my sisters that my husband and I are vampires. In non-COVID times, we spend our weekends hiking with friends, checking out new restaurants, visiting a winery in the mountains or countless other local hot spots! It helps that my husband has a severe case of FOMO and is always game for whatever latest adventure I’ve researched on Google! Haha!
We love living in the Atlanta Metro and our little suburb north of the city has blossomed the last two years into a great place to live! Breweries, boutiques and new restaurants are popping up everywhere along with lots of outdoor space, walking and running trails and places to just be. The last few month, were even more grateful to live, work and play here.
In the spirit of showing some local love, Kristy and I are starting a series highlighting our favorite local hot spots, small businesses and things to do around town in Atlanta and Chicago.
If you’re in Atlanta, these current faves are sweeter than a Georgia peach! #BlessYourHeart
We recently interviewed this #bossbabe about how she finds inspiration in 2020, how she got started designing jewelry and to ask her about her current passion project, making face masks glamorous and dare we say, fashionable and fun to wear! You can read our full interview with Lisa and shop her jewelry and face masks here.
Scout & Molly’s Boutique is a great little boutique at the mixed-use community where I live called Avalon just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. They always have new items arriving that somehow magically bring together current trends and a variety of price points. I’m loving these Vintage Havana leopard fashion sneakers because leopard and because I’m currently putting in over 15,000 steps a day now that the school I work at is back open for students.
Mountain High Outfitters is a great local outdoor store at Alpharetta City Center within walking distance from my house. I love that this store stocks lots of clothing and accessories for outdoor sports and activities like hiking, running, kayaking and more. That makes this hippie-hearted girl happy! If you are looking for a place to start at Mountain High Outfitters, I highly recommend these Goodr sunglasses. They are slightly bendable so they are comfortable for running, hiking and kayaking plus they are polarized and stay put during activities.
