Labor of Love Postpartum Chat Episode 1

Last night was the big premiere of Kristy’s new show, Labor of Love. We thought it would be fun to give you all the inside scoop! We’ve put together a little postpartum sister chat for you.

SARAH: Okay Kristy, last night was the big premiere of your new show, Labor of Love. I might be a little biased, but I thought it was AMAZING! I was so caught up in the story that time flew by way too fast, I can’t wait for next week’s episode. In the meantime, since I’m your sister and all, I thought we’d have a little heart-to-heart about what really went down last night. And you KNOW I have questions about your wardrobe, so we’ll definitely get to that too!

What was Kristy REALLY thinking…

SARAH: That’s a lot of pressure waiting to meet all these guys, what was going through your head right before you walked down those stairs to meet the men?

KRISTY: I found out just minutes before that I was going to have to walk down the stairs and into the party where they’d been hitting the bar for a few hours by the time I arrived. That’s a pretty intimidating scenario actually! I assumed the men would come to me for introductions, so internally I was in full on panic mode. I was so nervous I could barely feel my legs as I was walking down the stairs. Thank goodness Stewart stepped forward to help me. I mean, did you see those shoes (more on those later)?!

SARAH: Those shoes were fabulous, let’s definitely get back to those later! Right now, I have to ask you about the moment creating quite the buzz. What were you thinking when you saw those specimen cups?! I mean, so awkward!

KRISTY: I did NOT know about the fertility challenge ahead of time, so I was finding out about it in the moment along with the guys. Believe me, I was just as shocked as they were, but I knew it was important to keep my composure. I’ll say this, if you’re ever on an awkward first date, think of mine with these guys and I guarantee you’ll feel a lot better! Lol. The men were such good sports about it though, they really impressed me with how they handled it.

SARAH: Now the tough part, eliminations. How did you handle those? I would definitely have a hard being put in that position, was it difficult for you?

KRISTY: I definitely dreaded the eliminations, but they were a necessary part of this whole process. The worst part was they were actually quite a bit longer than what you see on TV. Having those conversations was not easy, but it was the right thing to do. It was important to me to be truthful, but also kind. I definitely had to switch into full on Boss Babe mode to get through them, that’s for sure! I wanted to be true to myself and a strong voice for women. I am actually really proud of how I handled eliminations. That experience was invaluable in teaching me how to stand in my own power.

SARAH: So now that we know a bit more about what went through your head in all of this, can you give us a behind the scenes scoop on what we DIDN’T see?!

What we DIDN’T see according to Kristy…

The day of the cocktail opener, it poured rain, so I had to sit in my trailer for literally hours with my hair and makeup done, anxiously awaiting my introduction to the men. Talk about nerve wracking!

Because of the huge weather delay, I actually only had maybe 15 minutes to meet and chat with the men for the first time before the fertility testing. SO uncomfortable! I was terrified they would all leave.

As far as those fertility results go, there were actually three “top performers” so to speak. While Alan was appropriately off the charts, Mario and Gary also metaled! Good to know ladies, good to know.

SARAH: I love getting this scoop, thank you for giving us a behind the scenes scoop! And before we wrap up, I have one last question which I know is on every woman’s mind right now. And maybe a few men’s too! Haha. Tell us about that Navy Blue Dress. I mean, wow! What a showstopper.

KRISTY: It’s funny, everyone LOVED that dress! The guys still talk about that one. Lol. It’s by House of CB but Amazon has an almost identical dupe for under $60 here too. And those killer shoes that I wore all the time… those are by Steve Madden. Find a similar pair here. I think the red lip really made this look. For a similar lip, try NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella.
