Get the Look: Grammys Edition

- General Fabulousness
Grammy's Logo

We live for music awards show since the fashion on the red carpet is always so fun and trendy. And the Grammys are one of our favorites! It doesn’t get better than a night filled with amazing performances, all of music’s biggest celebrities rocking out together and edgy fashion with lots of rocker glam and sparkle.

After spending all of Monday obsessing over the red carpet photos, we decided to try shop the look for less from some of my favorites. And maybe “mamanista” them a bit… we do love the peekaboo trend on the red carpet this year but the over the top red carpet version of this trend probably isn’t carpool or preschool drop off appropriate.  Without further ado… here are our favorites!

Liz’s Picks

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood brought her A-game, and I seriously cannot get enough of it! The lace and bell sleeves are huge trends right now, and you can sport a similar look with this blouse from ROMWE. I prefer the black, too, as it is seasonless.

Lea Michele

Lea Michele was another stunner on Sunday’s red carpet, and I’m currently doing every YouTube workout I can to get my abs in crop top shape. However, this Amazon find will achieve the same romantic boho look that Lea’s putting down without exposing too much of my mid-section. And for a bit more coverage, try this option!

Laverne Cox

My favorite Grammys red carpet look look was Laverne Cox because girlfriend was so confident and so in love with her look that her enthusiasm made me immediately start shopping online for a leather dress and rhinestones for my eyes.
I’m a huge fan of pencil skirts – have one in pretty much every color and fabric. Except leather! Not for long… Need to feel a little more confident about giving a presentation for your boss? Just slip on this leather-paneled pencil skirt with your favorite heels and a bow-tie blouse (30% off with promo code FAMILY), and you’re good to go!
Mamas-to-be, here’s an option for you that’s perfect for date night or a girls night out.

Sarah’s Picks

Bella Harris

Yes, I know… I had to look her up too. She’s a model and the daughter of music Producer Jimmy Jam. I love the more covered version of this year’s trendy peekaboo with long lines and flowy draping of her dress. This dress is stunning but still looks comfortable and the pattern makes me dream of all of the boho chic patterns we’re seeing in spring and summer lines! Here are a few ways to rock this style without the over the top price tag, a group favorite Amazon Floral Blouse, a Amazon Boho Chic Maxi Dress or a very wearable LOFT Primavera Swing Dress, also available in maternity and petite (40% off with promo code HAPPY).

Chrissy Teigen

How could we not love this new mama who rocks it on the red carpet with her swoon-worthy husband, Jon Legend as well as with her own career as a model, TV host and showcasing her foodie side with her recent cookbook. I love that Chrissy isn’t afraid to glam it up for the night in an edgy lacy gown that shows off her curves. Mamanista style, I’m loving the black lace and edgy details of this look. Here are a few ideas for channeling Chrissy’s look for a date night, special event, spring wedding, or even a weekend style with the kids in tow! This Full Length Black Lace Gown from Amazon is under $45 and looks every bit as showstopping as Chrissy’s. For girls night out or date night with your hubby, we recommend this Ina Fit and Flare Dress for $29 from TJ Maxx. This LOFT Cutout Lace Dress in Navy (40% Off with promo code HAPPY) adds a bit of spring for brunch or an upcoming wedding or special event. And finally, you can rock the black lace cut-out trend all weekend long from the ballfield to the grocery store with this very wearable LOFT Lacy Long Sleeve Tee (currently 50% off, no promo code needed).

Faith Hill

I love a good love story and to me Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are one of the best! And maybe as a mom in my 40s, I can identify with Faith’s style and admire her ability to still “bring it” every time she hits the red carpet at an event. I love her choice of bright red with a trendy peekaboo cut-out that’s fashionable but age appropriate. Plus red has always been my one of my favorite colors! And post babies, her dress is the perfect amount of sex appeal and coverage so you don’t have to worry that “the girls” are going to make an unexpected appearance! The Vita Knot Front Drape Dress from TJ Maxx is my top pick for those of you needing a glam dress or gown. It’s Belle by Badgley Mischka so we’re betting the quality is star worthy, making the $59.99 price tag even more appealing. For work, we’re picking this Ruched Front Knot Dress from Amazon. No Prime Shipping on this one but it’s still free and the dress in all sizes costs less than $40. If you’re looking for something more weekend ready, we recommend one of our Amazon favorites but this time in red, the Allegrace Cold Shoulder Long Sleeve Tee. At $14.56 with Prime Shipping you can’t beat it!
