With the very important, yet somber, conversations about #TimesUp and the #MeToo movements overshadowing the red carpets this awards season, we’ve refrained from sharing our best dressed. It just hasn’t felt appropriate.
However, here at TMM, we are all hard-working, independent women with feminist beliefs. We whole-heartedly believe a woman can love – and talk about – beauty and fashion and also participate in more serious conversations. On that note (see what I did there?), here are our favorite looks from the 60th Annual Grammy Awards red carpet. We not only love what these women wore, but we love these women for their strength, God-given talent and overall badass-ness.
Yesterday was my birthday, and you can’t convince me this red carpet look wasn’t Gaga’s personal gift to me. That train! Her flawless makeup. Those earrings. Head to toe, this custom Giorgio Armani look was perfection. And what I love most is that she brought the glam while staying true to her edgy aesthetic. Her “gown” is actually a black lace bodysuit with a skirted train wrapped over it, which she paired with black boots and a laced fishtail braid.
Sarah texted me about Miley’s old-Hollywood glam look during her Elton John performance – it’s definitely a departure from her VMAs performance look, amiright? I was more impressed by her red carpet look, though. She accessorized her all-black Jean Paul Gaultier jumpsuit with rhinestone-embellished platform heels, simple hair and makeup, and a long-stem white rose to honor the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements. Glad to have you back, Miley.
Does anyone else feel like mom-to-be Chrissy Teigen is challenging Kim Kardashian for sexiest mom fashion? Earlier this month, she was spotted strolling down the street in LA wearing daisy dukes and a crop top. And then she showed up on last night’s red carpet in this very shiny sequin gown with a very bold slit smack-dab in the middle of the dress. What I really love about this look – aside from the fact that she pulled off head-to-toe silver – are her slit bell-sleeves. Maybe it’s because I just bought a dress with a similar sleeve style. What do you think about them?
I’m a little obsessed with Janelle Monae’s Dolce and Gabbana embroidered pant suit. I’m really obsessed with her hair and makeup. No stranger to beautiful hair accessories, Janelle added some sparkle to her new pixie cut with crystal barettes and her eyes really stood out with her green eyeliner. Here are all the details for her glowing makeup.
Cyndi Lauper was part of Kesha’s powerful ensemble performance of “Praying,” and she didn’t disappoint on the red carpet either. Her lavender, Cupid-inspired suit by Moschino and coordinating pastel hair streaks were exactly what we’ve come to expect from this bold pop star.
