Summer is almost here and although this summer may look a bit different, let’s talk swimsuits! Last year, we reviewed some of the hottest Cupshe styles. You can check out our original review here.
The $30 price tags and promises of generous return policies of these swimsuits is very tempting, especially with in store shopping still on pause! If these promises leave you wondering if it’s too good to be true, you’re not alone!
With a new summer swimsuit season upon us (hopefully), we thought we’d do a Brutally Honest Cupshe Swimsuit Review 2.0. Below are 5 Cupshe suits you can purchase directly through the Cupshe website or through Amazon.
What does each retailer promise?
- Cupshe.com promises: Items can be easily returned within 30 days after delivery.
- Amazon Prime promises: Free shipping and free returns with Amazon Prime.
Swimsuit Reviews. The good, the bad, the ugly and just how does sizing work?!!
Cupshe sizing is the topic of many debates and conversations on social media and in online reviews. It’s definitely a puzzle to figure out and why that return policy is oh so important! So what’s the deal?
Cupshe One-Piece Swimsuits seem to run true to size and I was able to order my typical size small with no problems. My measurements are 34C/D bust, 26.5″ waist and 37″ hip for reference. As long as I stay away from plunging necklines or “barely there” tops in Cupshe one-pieces, true to size seems to work.
Two-pieces is where Cupshe falls apart for me in the fit department. In fairness, this is also the case with every other matched set bikini. I’ll open with the fact that I am not a “matched” set bikini kind of girl… separates are my friend and often my only solution to getting the top to match my bottoms when it comes to sizing. I’m a 34C/D bust and what is affectionately know as “between sizes” in bottoms with a 26.5″ waist and 37″ hips. I’m typically a 4/small in bottoms but sometimes that .5″ matters! The struggle is real! That said I do think that Cupshe two-piece suits still run about a size smaller than typical true to size. I would err on the side of looking at these as juniors sizing versus women’s and size up one size from your usual for two piece options.
Cupshe Swimsuit Reviews
The preppy gingham print of this suit balances the plunging neckline to somehow balance sexy and girl next door. The plunging neckline makes this a better style for sunbathing, reading by the pool, or a casual float in the ocean, rather than more active beach pursuits like chasing your toddler or playing Kan Jam with your family. This one-piece fits true to size, but definitely shows more of “the girls” if you’re a C cup or above. This suit is an all-around win in my book. This suit is just $23 with free shipping and returns and is available in sizes XS-2XL!
Verdict: Keep! The gingham print feels very Reese Witherspoon, southern belle charm in a good way!
I’m dreaming of sunny beaches and tanned skin with this citrusy one-piece! I love the the color blocking and the tie wrap sides of this suit. The top is lightly padded and lined to help prevent any potential “headlight” moments if you catch my drift! The cut of this suit is flattering for any cup size and the wrap tie middle helps add a bit more definition at the waist. This suit is under $33 with Amazon Prime free shipping and returns and is available in sizes XS-2XL!
Verdict: Keep! Maybe its because it has me craving mimosas on the beach, but this citrus wrap suit has me feeling all the feels!
Anything striped is a favorite of ours and this nautical feeling suit is no exception. The ruffled neckline adds just enough coverage and a bit of fun along the v neck and the cross back straps hold the suit in place. This suit is under $33 and also comes in coral solid and and a pink stripe in sizes XS-2X.
I love the tropical print on this bikini and the fact that the orange top holds everything in a bit for more active trips to the pool or beach! The tropical print has me dreaming of my cancelled spring break trip this year but hopefully this suit will see plenty of pool time this summer! I tested my theory on sizing up in Cupshe bikinis but also ordered my regular size since this one is high waisted. For the record, high waisted styles are true to size when ordering. This suit is available in sizes XS-2XL for under $28 with Amazon Prime free shipping and returns.
Verdict: Keep! The tropical, palm tree print and a higher waist for those days when you overindulged in the cheese dip the night before (not that that ever happens!), makes this a great feel good two-piece option even if you’re not sure you’re a bikini kind of gal!
The slate blue color of this two piece with the black and white striped straps and accents gives this an earthy feel that has me dreaming of finally checking off that trip to Costa Rica off my travel bucket list! The suit is fully lined which gives it a higher quality feel than the under $25 price tag implies. I love the black and white detailing too. The bottoms are definitely more of a “cheeky” style with high straps on the hip so you’ll have to feel comfortable showing a bit more of your backside. Still very wearable for this mom of three though! In typical Cupshe two-piece fashion, size up on this one for the best fit! This suit is available in sizes M-2XL (translates to S-XL) for $24.99 w free Prime Shipping and returns through Amazon.
Verdict: Keep! With a little less coverage in back and a little more cleavage exposed, I might save this one for that someday couples trip to Costa Rica! If you’re looking for a slightly understate suit with vavoom this one fits the bill!
Cupshe Swimsuit Review: Does reality meet expectations?
- Style: Overall, I love the fun patterns, colors and prints of Cupshe suits. They somehow skate the line between fun and sexy without revealing too much.
- Quality: For the money, the quality is honestly better than I would have expected.
- Fit: This continues to be a bit of a sticky wicket and I would err on ordering through Amazon Prime to help solve this dilemma. In general, one-piece suits tended to be true to size but the two-piece suits tended to run about a size smaller than typical, with the exception of high-waisted styles which run true to size.
- Return Policy:
- Cupshe.com: While Cupshe promises easy returns, our research and reading online reviews reveal that merchandise credits toward future purchases were given in place of actual refunds. In many cases, purchasers are allowed to keep their original suits but still not ideal if you need to order 5 suits just to find one that works.
- Amazon: On Amazon, returns were easy and followed the same Amazon Prime process, just make sure you look for the “free shipping and free returns” wording in the swimsuits description! Cupshe and other retailers also post directly to Amazon and not all Prime purchase automatically offer free returns as well.
