Each month, ipsy sends a curated bag full of goodies around a specific theme. The April ipsy glam bag was themed “Sideshow” and was geared towards celebrating imperfections.

The bag itself can sometimes be a let-down, but this month’s one did not disappoint. I love the ticket-themed bag, although last month’s rose gold one is still a permanent fixture in my purse.
Adesse New York Butter Lip Balm
One of the things I love about ipsy is how it introduces me to brands I may never have heard of. Adesse New York would be one of those brands. This “butter lip balm” has a gingery-mint smell to it, which was both interesting and unexpected. The middle has a balm in it to soften and condition your lips. I can’t say much about the color, because there doesn’t seem to be any. It literally goes on clear. If you’re interested and/or love ginger-minty smelling things, you can check out their full line here and get 20% off with IPSY20.
I like to switch my ipsy profile up every few months to mix up what they send me. Last month, I added back that I’d like hair products after taking a brief hiatus from them. I have the hair of about five people on my head, so I go through product quickly. I love testing out new hair oils and was impressed with this one. I’ve found some hair oils can actually make your hair look greasy, but this wasn’t one of them. In fact, the day I used it several people asked if I got my hair done that weekend. Nope, just looking good thanks to this Theorie Marula Hair Transformation Serum. The one thing I’m not crazy about is that there’s no way to control the product flow when it comes out of the bottle. Other oils I have contain a built in stopper or a tapered neck to slow the flow. This one you just screw off the top and get down to business. If you’re interested, you can pick up a bottle here (and I recommend you do!) and use code LOVEIPSY30 to get 30% off the $26 retail price.
ColourPop Creme Gel Liner
When I made my recent ipsy profile updates, I asked for them to stop sending black eyeliner. I literally had a stockpile and was trying to give it away. I hardly wear eyeliner – I have oily eyelids and by the end of the day, its gathered around my bottom lids and I look like I just got into a bar fight. I’m familiar with the brand ColourPop and heard go things about it, and happy that the eyeliner at least wasn’t black. I tried the eyeliner for two days and both days had the “someone tried to start something at the bar” look by the end of the day. On the positive side, it has a nice, fine point and goes on smooth.
Luxie Beauty Dreamcatcher Precision Foundation Brush
It would not be an understatement for me to say that this brush is WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF. Seriously, this is my second Luxie brush and they just keep getting better. I have the MAC and Lancome foundation brushes and this thing kicks their asses in every single category, including price. It’s soft, like angel kisses. It makes my foundation go on so light and airy. It has a rose gold handle!!! It literally will make me happy to use it in the morning. And if YOU want to be happy in the morning too, go to the site and use the code IPSY660. It’ll cost you about four Starbucks lattes and is worth every penny.
