2016 Trends We Loved and a Few We Wish Would Go Away

Mom Life
Ah, 2016. You’ve been an interesting year but you are now firmly in our rearview mirror. There’s not too many things from 2016 that we hope to see again in 2017, but here are a few of our fashion favorites that would make the list.

2016 Trends We Loved and Hope to See More of in 2017:

It’s now not only acceptable, but fashionable, to wear leggings and yoga pants out in public! And you don’t even have to go to the gym! It doesn’t get any better than this.

Rose Gold Anything

We love how rose gold is the perfect combination of feminine and fierce. From jewelry to tech accessories, this color was everywhere in 2016 and we hope to see it continue in 2017.

Bring on the bling! You know we love a good arm party, so there’s no reason why your lobes should be left out.

Yes, you CAN wear them without looking like an extra from Pretty Woman. Just look for a pair in a luxurious fabric like suede and a neutral color (and this would be one caveat to our “leopard print IS a neutral” rule). And have fun with what you pair them with! Skinny jeans, dresses and skirts all look great with over the knee boots.

Blanket scarves

One of the most versatile and ubiquitous accessories of 2016 was the hard-working blanket scarf. Available in tons of colors, patterns and price points, the blanket scarf can be worn in a variety of different ways.

I’ve enjoyed the off-the-shoulder trend (an elegant way to show a little skin … that hasn’t been impacted by making babies!), and I will be glad when lingerie no longer qualifies as a complete outfit.

We do love the cold shoulder trend this fall and winter and we’re excited to see the off-the-shoulder trend taking shape for spring as well. There are hints of it with warm, cozy yet still feminine sweaters and knits all over one of our favorite mom boutiques Evereve.com. This one is on my wishlist! https://www.evereve.com/p/off-shoulder-ribbed-sweater-35103
